Philip Conkling

For the past 30 years, Philip Conkling served as the founding publisher and senior editor of Island Journal and The Working Waterfront at the Island Institute in Rockland.

He is the author of many books, including “Islands in Time” and “Lobsters Great and Small.”

His most recent book on climate change, “The Fate of Greenland” won the Phi Beta Kappa award for Best Science Book of the Year in 2012.

Conkling lives in Camden with his wife Paige, where he encourages their five sons to come back to live and work in Maine
